We are 50th and Broadway, the place of their first kiss!
Shooting in NYC in Times Square is always as exciting as the city itself. Throw in an extraordinary film maker, Bruce Cullen with his Steadicam, a beautiful & smart couple David and Claudia and then you have a recipe for a killer time in Manhattan!
Here’s their story: Dave and Claudia are both civil engineers and met while working for the same company on the same project – building the jetBlue Terminal at JFK Airport in New York. Over two years later, they started dating, and two years after that Dave proposed. It was a beautiful spring day in early April, and Dave and Claudia were strolling on the beach while she performed her usual routine of searching for seashells. Dave pretended to help and called out that he had found one, and Claudia turned to find him down on one knee. She was so happily shocked that he was proposing, that she was speechless!
Switching up from the usual & exploring. Loving what you do is half the battle. We recently had an opportunity to do a fashion shoot for an up & coming model, Chandilyn Coleman. Can’t deny it, she has the X factor… I am confident her career in modeling will flourish.
Our dream team consisted of AMAZING make up artist & designer,Harry Jefferson, stylist amongst many other titles, Karha Sanon, myself, & Chandilyn’s grandfather, who truly believes in her & made this all happen, Eric Wright. We shot the images at the chic restaurant 42 / Bellotta located in White Plains, CT on top of the Ritz Carlton. 42 / Belotta is a must, for anyone who wants ambiance & dinning experience like no other with breath taking views of New York from the 42nd floor. The pleasant surprise it that there are two restaurants within the same space with a magnificent bar area! It’s one my favorite places to entertain & soon will be yours. To Jarett & Collin @ 42 / Bellotta who run the restaurants, THANK YOU. Tell them I sent you, you’ll be in good hands. Executive Chef Anthony Goncalves/ Owner & great friend makes some exquisite dishes! Enjoy, let me know what your think. “It’s truly different up here…”
We had an amazing time shooting Dawn & Rey for their engagement session. Their story is truly special… as friends, lovers, and soon to be husband & wife I can see that love can conquer it all…. We went back to were it all started at Port Chester High School… The image of Rey down on his knees is where he originally proposed and the image of the lockers is where they used to hang out before & after class.
Here’s their story…The story of Dawn and Reynaldo starts off at Port Chester High School in September of 1994. It was the beginning of their sophomore year of high school in which they shared a math class together. However, Dawn did not know that Rey was in her class! Her friend Cristian (who is also Rey’s cousin) came up to her and introduced the two of them. From that point on a great friendship started. For many years and even after graduation, Dawn and Rey were constantly teased about their friendship but they ignored everyone and remained close friend, – always in each other’s lives.
It wasn’t until Rey moved to Vegas that their relationship grew stronger. The distance of not seeing each other or being around each other made them realize that there might be something more to their relationship. When Rey moved back to New York he asked Dawn out. No one was surprised and many “I told you so’s” followed.
Dawn and Rey dated for 8 years before getting engaged. One night, Dawn was out with a friend and when she came home late at night, Rey was not home. She called him and he was out looking for something to eat. She told him to come home and she would go sit at the diner with him. On their way to the diner, Rey told Dawn he had something to show her and took her to the high school. As they were walking, Dawn turned around to ask Rey what he was trying to show her and found Rey on one knee in the exact same spot as the two pictures above! He asked her “Will you marry me” and it was followed by a few screams of “oh my god’s” and then a very big “YES!”
One of Dawn and Rey’s favorite stories of their engagement is when their moms saw each other for the first time after their engagement that weekend. Both moms looked at each other, threw up their hands, and high-fived one another as Mary, Rey’s mom said “WE DID IT!”
Dawn and Rey cannot wait to start a new chapter in their lives surrounded by their family and friends in September! The big day is approaching fast…
What more can one ask for…. A beautiful Sunday and the Tapscott Family! I had the pleasure of shooting the amazing Tapscott family. We sponsored a family portrait session as part of a silent auction which the Tapscott’s won at the 100 Black Men Of Stamford Golf outing last year, 2011. Kimberly & David Tapscott are the proud parents of daughters Amber (10) & Taylor (7). Kimberly is a ABR and Associate Partner @ Keller Williams Prestige Properties and David is Vice President of Marketing, Smirnoff Global Brand Team at Diageo. They are truly a dream team family that works hard and leads by example for their daughters. Kim & Dave thank you for allowing me to capture your family images. Had a great time! O
Another day of an amazing shoot! The couple featured, Tanya & Paul allowed us the chance to get creative and artistic with their engagement images using a graffiti park as the backdrop! Rampage Skate Park is located in Bridgeport, CT http://www.facebook.com/RampageSkateShop.SkateparkEquipment.ArtSupply and is an amazing place to check out graffiti/ skate board. We are truly appreciative of being able to do what we love and to make our clients happy!!!! Thank you Tanya & Paul.
Here’s their story…..
“Well, it went something like this…
12 years ago, after high school, I moved to Westchester, NY. After work on the first day of my new job, I went with a co-worker to his friend’s house to introduce me to some of his friends. That’s when I met Paul.
I found the courage to call him & here we are today!
